FREE DR. KHALED AL SERR

Dr. Khaled Al Serr is a 32-year old Palestinian surgeon who was working in Nasser hospital in Khan Yunis when he was taken by Israeli forces, along with other healthcare workers.

He is being held in conditions that constitute enforced disappearance, a crime under international law.

His family has only received scraps of information from his colleagues and released detainees, including one person who reported that Dr. Al Serr was subjected to torture and other ill-treatment.

Aleksandra Skochilenko freed this month

Following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia introduced war censorship laws to make protest against the invasion a criminal offence. Aleksandra Skochilenko replaced price tags in a local supermarket with small anti-war labels. She was sentenced to 7 years in prison and was a prisoner of conscience.

Aleksandra was freed only weeks ago in the August prisoner swap. This monumental breakthrough would not have happened without the important advocacy of organisations like Amnesty and the incredible support of people like you.

mOHAMED BAKER now free

Human rights lawyer Mohamed Baker was arrested by Egyptian authorities for defending human rights for Egypt’s most marginalised community.

Over 300,000 actions taken by supporters like you contributed to his freedom in 2023 after a presidential pardon and 45 months of arbitrary detention. After his release, Mohamed said that he will never forget Amnesty standing by him.

Thank you to our generous supporters
